To Serve Christ Through Education

Christian Education at Chapel Lane Presbyterian Church is an opportunity for people of all ages to enrich their worship experience through further exploration of scripture, theology, music and Christian living.

Children's Christian education at Chapel Lane begins with quality nursery care for infants and toddlers. A safe, loving environment welcomes the smallest child into the Family of God. Children age preschool through sixth grade take part in The R.O.C.K. Rotational Sunday School on Sunday mornings during the education time. Over the course of several weeks the children experience Biblically based, Christ-centered educational classes that are structured around presenting the great stories of the Bible in story, drama, art and song. Each unit lasts approximately three weeks and culminates in a celebration on the fourth Sunday of the rotation.

Students in grades seven and eight spend their time in Confirmation classes, with a Biblical overview and studies of Presbyterianism — our history, creeds, beliefs and government. Students are received into full membership upon public profession of faith, generally in mid-May of each year.

Our youth class, for grades nine through twelve, works through student-elected curriculum based on Biblical topics and current needs of the students.

Children with special needs are always welcome in our Christian Education programs.

Our adult Sunday morning program includes two regular classes. One class is a more traditional Bible study, and one focuses on topics of special interest as we seek to bring our Christian witness and experience to bear on the issues of the world. Short-term elective classes are held periodically, based on the interests and needs of the congregation.

Bible studies are held during the week at various times. Vacation Bible School and additional learning and fellowship opportunities during the summer along with periodic workshops and seminars round out our educational program.

SUNDAY WORSHIP

You are invited to join us in worship on Sunday mornings. Our 8:30 a.m. service is relaxed and welcoming. Our 10:45 a.m. service, while more traditional in style and content, is welcoming as well. In both services we celebrate God's love for us through song, prayer, and the joyful proclamation of the Word.

Schedule Change: Please note that on Sunday, March 11, there will be no 8:30 a.m. service for that Sunday only. If you routinely attend the 8:30 service, you are encouraged to attend the 10:45 service to show support for the church’s youth, who will be conducting the service.
