Confirmation Confirmation is the process whereby someone who was baptized as an infant has the opportunity to study the faith and make a decision whether or not to join the church as an active adult member. It is also the time when non-baptized young people can engage in a time of study that will help them decide whether they wish to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, be baptized and join the church. Traditionally, this takes place in the 8th or 9th grade year. The curriculum for the class will cover a wide variety of topics dealing with: the Christian faith and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ, how and why we worship, the sacraments, mission, basic Presbyterian traditions and practices, how we govern ourselves and what it means to be the church. Here at Chapel Lane we have handled confirmation in a variety of ways including: Sunday morning classes, Sunday evening classes and after school activities. If you have any questions about confirmation, please let Pastor Young know. |
